Crazy green tights fairy man?!

If you have played any Zelda game since Majora’s Mask you must know who Tingle is. You know: The crazy guy in green tights? Yeah, him. The so called “Tingle” has been in every Zelda game since Majora’s Mask, for no apparent reason, besides annoying us.

In Majora’s Mask, he would sell maps to you; useful of course, but not too important.

In OoA he has a somewhat larger role, and this time is necessary in beating and completing the game. He is in the game far too much for my tastes.

I am not so sure about OoS, not having played it in a while has left the details of it a tad fuzzy, so I can’t remember if Tingle was in it or how much of a part he plays, if any. But if he was in it there was simply too much of him, even if it was just his name.

In tWW he is so important he even has his own island! His entire purpose in the game is to give you a map to find his island, then decode several maps for you at almost 400 rupees a piece!

Thankfully in tMC Nintendo seemed to realize the trouble they were in, and only put him in for a side quest. Of course, the side quest is highly rewarding and takes a long time to complete, but I guess it’s a start…

But having such a key part in the Wind Waker as to give you his “map” to Tingle island (Which alone was too much Tingle for me), just so you can beat the game, was by far the worst part of this doomed character. Having to talk to him to get a semi-useful map is one thing, but having to talk to him and having to let him out of prison is another thing. So, you have to ask your self, "What were they thinking?!"
