Affiliation, Etc.

These revised affiliation policies are more practical and in tune with our goals, not to mention people's attention span. Read well, and you might stand a chance! [Note: The old, über-long policies are hidden in the coding, so view the source code if you really want to look something up!]

Guidelines

First off, these are mere guidelines; any "rules" there might have been are just common sense, and thus are not listed. I like to decide these things on an individual basis, which explains how few guidelines there are.

There are only two things that really matter to me when picking an affilly (that would be a combination of affiliate and ally): You, the webmaster, and your site itself. Not hits, or relations, or "rank" in the community, etc.

In regards to you, a good site has an even better webmaster. You should be a friendly person, with an air of creativity. Unfortunately, though, there's nothing you can do about the persona you cast, so this one's just plain luck (for better or for worse).

In regards to your site, I am looking for U.C.A.! And what's that?

U = Unique
C = Content
A = Atmosphere

If the entire concept of your site is unique (and good, of course...-__-;;), like TWL, you are almost guaranteed a slot. If you have a lot of unique features, as most good sites do, then that's fine, too!

I like content. Lots o' content. If you have a lot of content (good content, of course...-__-;;), you have a much better chance of getting in. But if you're like TWL, which doesn't have as much content, you might still have a chance.
Oh, yeah, and guess what! Not one piece of content about any Zelda game counts! MWAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

Atmosphere includes layout (especially color combos), how you write (i.e., "wuz up m'brothas?!" is not good), and how you write (e.g. "I can't believe I updated today. It is amazing. Go see this and this and this..." is not good). Yes, that's two things about writing.

In Conclusion...

To stop myself from rambling on any more, I shall simply wrap all this up. If you don't know if your site meets the guidelines, which you couldn't, as they're all subjective (as opposed to objective), just e-mail me your link, and we'll take it from there.

To apply, send me an e-mail with the following info:

(Nick)Name:
Site Name:
Site URL:
Site Button (URL):
Butter Me Up?

The site button is optional, but if you send me a link to one, it must be 88x31 pixels. And no, that last one's not something that's asking for a word to prove that you read the above. It's just a space for anything you'd like to tell me about you or your site, and is optional.
